Christmas

It's been cool to hear some new songs this holiday season I hadn't heard before by some bands you might think unlikely to cover a Christmas tune.

My Chemical Romance did their take of Mariah Carey's "All I want for Christmas is You."

How to Spot a Goth

1. Hair - Goths will have jet black or crappy, home-dyed hair. Nothing else explains their inner turmoil like dyed hair. Often times, Goths will become so non-conformist or burnt out on the image that they'll let their roots show. Warning: These Goths are the bitchiest.

goth460
2. Shallowness - Goths love white pancake makeup. They also love spending time on making makeup spider webs, blood trails, or some other stupid shit to express their devotion to the cause. Goths also love colored contact lenses. Everyone knows albino eyes rock! Seriously, though, for people who want to be known as Goths are the most shallow people I know, even more than their archenemy, "Preps."

3. Piercing and Lobe Stretching - This one's too easy. No one, and I mean no one, can defend it. It's just stupid.

4. Clothing - Black, silver accessories, or stupid neon-colored rave shit. Shops only at Hot Topic and Spencers.

5. Talking - Goths love death, dying, blood, vampires, paranormal, black, magic, depression, Anne Rice, cutting themselves, etc. stupid shit. Anyone you find talking about any the former or something similar will identify as at least accepting Goths, if not, more likely, identifying as one.

6. Entertainment/Hobbies - Raves, Anne Rice, Stephen King, Joy Division, Bauhaus, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Tibetan Book of the Dead (the band), cutting themselves, sitting in clusters, smoking, orgies, dying their muff, writing shitty poetry, drawing pictures of anguish and darkness, being "enlightened," not giving a shit about what anyone else thinks (except other Goths), being "non-conformist," parading at amusement parks just to see people's double takes (Forty bucks for just that. I've seen it more than once.), threatening suicide, inhabiting the Internet, writing stupid quizzes, and, most of all, leading shitty existences.

fittness
7. Likes/Hates - Likes everything Goth. Hates everything not Goth.
8. Types: All Goths fall in at least two of the categories.
Vampire Goth - Obsessed with Vampire: The Masquerade and Anne Rice. Either identifies self as an actual vampire or as a sanguarian. A sanguarian is a person who believes they actually need to drink blood to stay alive. I wonder how these dipshits made it through childhood in the first place.

Emo Hair Styles

What an emo style is varies for each person wearing it, and the exact same style worn by one individual may be an emo look, but if worn by someone else it may be considered goth or punk. In general, however, emo styles do share certain characteristics.

emo hair

Most emo styles have bangs.

  • Rich, deep colors, such as black or deep brunette shades, often including hair highlights in stark contrasts or unusual shades. Black hair, for example, may be highlighted with white accents, vibrant red streaks, orange tones, or any other shade the individual prefers. At the same time, any color that is bold and vibrant can be considered an emo look, such as white hair with pink or blue accents.

emo hair2

  • Loose styles that typically are not restrained by hair accessories or elaborate coifs. Emotion, after all, cannot be restrained, and most emo styles are loose as well, though heavy hair products may be needed to style the look.
  • Long bangs that may be worn obscuring the eye (left or right is up to the individual’s preference) or swept to the side. Bangs may also be straight across the forehead, but are generally longer than for other hair styles, and not every emo style has bangs.

emo-hair-cut  emo hair1

  • A certain, deliberately messy look that reflects the individual’s personal style. Emo hair styles are popular with teens, and teenage emotions are rarely straightforward and clearly defined. To reflect those emotions, an emo style may be somewhat unruly, and in fact, many teens who wear emo styles will change their look from day to day to reflect their current state of mind.

Gerard Way

Gerard Arthur Way (born April 9, 1977 in Newark, New Jersey) is an American musician who has served as frontman, lead vocalist and co-founder of the band My Chemical Romance since its formation in 2001. He currently lives in West New York, New Jersey.

At the age of 15, Gerard was held up at gun point, as stated in a recent Rolling Stones article: "I got held up with a .357 Magnum, [I] had a gun pointed to my head and [was] put on the floor, execution-style." The incident did not, however, impinge on his views of the world. He went on to say that "no matter how ugly the world gets or how stupid it shows me it is, I always have faith."

Panic at the Disco not Emo!

Snger Brendon Urie explained they found the label insulting, and didn't want to be pigeon-holed as just an emo band.
“It’s ignorant! The stereotype is guys that are weak and have failing relationships write about how sad they are. If you listen to our songs, not one of them has that tone," he declared.

Hot Tattoo's!

Since posting about guys being hot with tattoo's, I have found some more even hotter pics than before.

Hot and Sexy

Well this blog is all about alternative guys and so far I have featured Goths and Emo guys, so how about some hot sexy punks?

I was looking through the web earlier, so many people label emo guys as punks.  They obviously have no idea.  The guy about could sort of be goth, but is definately more punk.

Would you class the guy above as punk?  Well not really, but he is sort off.

A punk rock group!  So they are technically all punks, but if you look at them, you couldn't really class them all as punks.  But well we can't have it all.

Emo Hair, A few tips to help you get perfect hair

  1. Grow your hair out; the front and side parts so they cover a good portion of your face. Some people grow out the back. If it's short in the back, you can spike it up with gel, but this looks tacky if it gets too long.

  1. Layer your hair. Get long layers about half way down your hair, and short the rest of the way up. (If you're a guy don't worry about layering your hair, unless you want to.)
  2. Straighten your hair, with either an iron or gel. If your hair is wavy, just use hairspray/gel to weigh it down. Or, you can use what are known as 'emo weights.' Not being the actual name, these clips come in difference sizes and different types for different purposes, but actual go under a layer of your hair to weight it down. New types exist that do things such as hold it up, or spiral it.

  1. Dye your hair black and maybe add some red or blond streaks.
  2. Flip your hair upside down and blow-dry it. It doesn't matter if it is dry already, the heat just accentuates the layers in your hair.
  3. Accessorize your hair, once you're happy with the color and style. Bows are always your best choice, along with other funky hair clips. Don't forget the eyeliner! Girls can never have too much. If you're a guy, go moderate on the eyeliner and forget accessories.

  1. Leave your hair just everywhere like it is in the morning. Mostly works great! If you have short emo-ish hair you may want to spike it or just mess with it after your morning shower.

What is an Emo?

I posted the definition of a Goth so how about a definition of what is an emo.  My opinion of what is emo and yours are most likely different, so lets just see what wikipedia say!

Starting in the mid-1990s, the term emo began to refer to the indie scene that followed the influences of Fugazi, which itself was an offshoot of the first wave of emo. Bands including Sunny Day Real Estate and Texas Is the Reason had a more indie rock style of emo, more melodic and less chaotic.

The so-called "indie emo" scene survived until the late 1990s, as many of the bands either disbanded or shifted to mainstream styles. As the remaining indie emo bands entered the mainstream, newer bands began to emulate the mainstream style. As a result, the term "emo" became a vaguely defined identifier rather than a specific genre of music.

Can guys be cute if they have tattoo's

Someone was saying the other day that guys can't be cute if they have tattoo's.  What planet do some people live on?  Of course guys with tattoo's can be cute and I am going to prove it by posting some of them here.

There is so many hot guys to choose with tattoo's, so you may not like my particular selection this time, but don't worry there will be lots more.

What is a Goth?

Different people have different definitions for Goth's.  Well this is what wikipedia thinks a goth is, and they are normally right.

The goth subculture is a contemporary subculture found in many countries. It began in the United Kingdom during the early 1980s in the gothic rock scene, an offshoot of the post-punk genre. The goth subculture has survived much longer than others of the same era, and has continued to diversify. Its imagery and cultural proclivities indicate influences from nineteenth century Gothic literature along with horror movies and to a lesser extent, - according to César Fuentes Rodríguez and Carol Siegel - the BDSM culture.

The goth subculture has associated tastes in music, aesthetics, and fashion, whether or not all individuals who share those tastes are in fact members of the goth subculture. Gothic music encompasses a number of different styles. Common to all is a tendency towards a lugubrious, mystical sound and outlook. Styles of dress within the subculture range from deathrock, punk, androgynous, medieval, some Renaissance and Victorian style clothes, or combinations of the above, most often with black attire, makeup and hair.
